Senior Moving

We know relocating as a senior with us will be less stressful than doing it on your own or with family. Whether you’re changing homes, downsizing to an apartment, condo, retirement residence, or living with a family member, we can help.

We understand every move is unique and can accommodate as needed.  We will wrap and pad all your furniture and place it in the new address as asked, and unpack if desired. Often, we run into furniture that is no longer needed by the client – we can organize storage space, or we can arrange to have the items delivered to another family member’s residence.

We work with many societies around Ottawa and are comfortable moving mobility equipment.

The Move Manager is responsible for the entire moving process and works closely with the client to make sure that everything runs smoothly and any problems are quickly dealt with. The entire process is tailored to the clients’ needs and requests.

Talk to them early, treat them like adults and their items with respect. Understand their items may not have monetary value but they have an emotional value. Be prepared for the process to move slowly. Storage is typically not a solution in most cases.

Make sure to take the time needed to find the right community. Not all nursing homes are created equally. Make sure to give them a voice, help them be involved, and visit often. Schedule time outside the nursing home with them. Make their space feel like home.
